Some will say you have to take a plane to experience the clouds around you, what would it be like if you couldn’t afford it at real cost? For a moment it was not miles away from land, but inevitably miles above sea level.
Madolsima is a remote village in the Badulla District of the Uva Province. It is approximately 2300-3400 feet above sea level. How to get there? If you travel by bus, you can take the Colombo-Badulla 99 route bus and the bus from Badulla to Pitamaruwa.
The journey to Badulla takes approximately 7-8 hours and from Badulla to Madolsima is about 3-4 hours to the end of the world. If you take the bus from Badulla to Pitamaru at 7.00 am, you can reach there at 11.00 am and ask the conductor to drop you off at the corner of Madolsima Mini World. You can descend from the 30th mile post and walk 1.1 km from there.
From that path you will find a footpath to your left with a summer hut, you must take that path to reach the end of the world. If you are on a day trip you have three hours to have fun so the only bus from there will leave for Badulla at around 1.00 pm. If you intend to return by the same bus, let the conductor know that you will be returning.
Then if you are 2-3 minutes late you will not have any problems. Undoubtedly you can file away many of the most beautiful experiences you can have in life.
